A brilliant fusion of pop and gonzo humor, 1994's Chocolate and Cheese is arguably Ween's finest moment.
These die-hard oddballs are fascinatingly eclectic but ultimately too self-conscious for their own good.
Real question... Who doesn't want to listen to an album with that kind of cover?
So yeah... I've been bullied into listening to more Ween on the Album of The Year Discord server, and I decided that the most appealing looking album would be this one - 'Chocolate and Cheese'. Trust me when I say this, this album has potential to grow on me. The first listen was pretty decent, but who knows if I'm gonna like it more. This album is constantly on a fight between some of Ween's weakest, most drawn out and boring songs, and their best works yet. This is the first Ween album that feels like an intentional body of work instead of organized bullshit. Not that I had a problem with organized bullshit, but this project is noticeably better than their other stuff. A lot of absolutely incredible songs here, despite some slower chill songs in between. Very funny, like any Ween album.
