Is it okay to listen to Kanye West in 2026?
There were glimmers of old Kanye on this one and the production was characteristically him, but at the end of the day, Kanye has a huge hill to climb given his tumultuous past couple of years. Will he ever reach the heights he once had? Absolutely not. But it’s nice to hear some aspects of that classic Kanye in this body of work.

I’d argue that this man hasn’t made a bad solo album (we don’t need to talk about ‘Bad Cameo’). As always, Blake’s gorgeous vocals and production coupled with beautiful swelling strings and stripped piano on some tracks make this an album that I’ll come back to time and time again.
When you have 15+ songs on an album, you have to make sure you’re keeping the listener engaged. On ‘Octane’, Toliver starts strong. “E85” is a solid opener with energy that carries into the next few tracks, but by the eighth song I was beginning to wonder where he was going with the record.
