Honestly this is a good album with a lot of good tracks. The beats are high quality. Some of the bars are ahh and there is a lot of bloat, but other than that I don’t see why it’s being rated as low as it is right now.
I definitely think that the low rating is due the other two albums. But if you just judge this album on its own, it is on par with his last solo album.
This is such a beautiful album, it really felt like Isaiah dug deep to make this piece of art.
The album definitely has a solid number of good tracks, but the ones that definitely stood out were the Intro, Fuel with JID, and Toby.
The album was cohesive in terms of being well structured, it flows well and nothing stands out as a misplacement.
He does need to chill with the corny lines and subject matters. Nothing he was saying was as controversial as he was trying to make it out to be, but rather annoying and completely meaningless. That’s where the album fell short so hard for ... read more
Great album, I’m so happy I found out about him just before he dropped his debut album. This is one of the greatest starts to an artist’s career.
I want to judge this album based on the fact that this is his first, he is still a freshman, and goddamn this is as strong as it can get for someone like him in the position that he is in.
Unique style, meaningful and emotional production, and great rapping. The only thing I really wished he did differently was experimenting with a ... read more
Decent songs but not super memorable after the first couple of listens. Production and vocals are mid.
Great album! Really enjoyable to listen to it from begging to end. Very unique with elements of accessible and catchy elements to balance it out for an easy listen.
Not a big fan of these tracks tbh… kinda disappointing project from Denzel
Well put together, meaningful and comprehensive piece of work that gorillaz succeeded in creating.
First half is really good, then it just decides to nose dive into the abyss for no reason at all.
Incredibly abstract and yet emotional piece of work. It was a great listen!
J Cole continues to prove that he is one of the most consistent rappers who does not lose the flame and determination since the older days of his mixtapes.
However, this album does have flaws that contradict this from this being one of his better albums. The quantity matched with the overall quality makes it bloated, and oversaturated with fillers that could have definitely been trimmed out or added as additional bonus tracks to preserve a well structured body of work.
Saved 10/21 songs. The songs I saved I really like and it will definitely make me comeback to this album.
I don’t think from the first couple listens the album is very well structured. The short songs mixed with a long track list is not the best way I’d expect a joji album to be structured. I think this album would have been a lot better if he trimmed all the fat and allowed the songs to breath.
Only song I saved was Bruce Wayne, only a handful of songs were remotely catchy. never listening to this again 😂
I really hoped he would have come out with something better after the long wait. His last album and the long wait really set the bar pretty high and it did not meet it.
7/28 songs saved to the playlist, but honestly the rest of the songs are were pretty painful to get through.
