I like the second album more but this first half has some good songs (Florida, guilty as sin, the smallest man who ever lived). Some of the writing is a bit jarring like on the title track and down bad. It’s like this weird mix of some really vulnerable beautiful songs and others that feel a bit half baked in execution. Overall I enjoyed it tho. I've been falling in love with it the more I listen to.
Faves: Florida, Black Dog, So high school , guilty as sin
Cowboy Carter was really fun and had a lot of unexpected moments. The interludes really helped with the storytelling. Albums flows so well. Beyonce continues to expand her artistry in unbelievable ways.
Faves: II Most wanted Levi’s jeans , bodyguard , riiverdance
Some really gorgeous tracks here. Not as many stand outs as I'd like but it's definitely an album I'd put on if I wanted to relax. Very cohesive with lovely productions. Faves: Anime eyes, dinner with friends
Very cohesive to the point where majority of the songs blend into each other and don't stand out as much. I’ll def play this while I’m studying. It’s nice background music probably wouldn’t recommend to someone who isn’t already a bleachers fan. Tiny moves , jesus is dead and call me after midnight are highlights
Vocals were perfect and production was crisp. Definitely her most cohesive record. A lot of sounds I honestly didn’t really expect from her. Bye is a career highlight for sure. Favourites are Bye, Boy is mine, don’t wanna break up. Feel like I’ll love it even more with more listens
Honestly wasn't sure about it on my first listen but it's gradually been growing for me. I live for Faye's signature dreamy sounds. Lifetime, Thinking about you and Wanna Quit All the time are my favourites.
My number one album for 2023. No other project comes close to this one for me. It's one of my most played albums each month of the year. Jack and Lana brought back the magic they had together on NFR and reworked in a new and interesting way. A&W is easily a career highlight for Lana. The storytelling is great here. There are some songs, you may not get initially but on a revisit resonate with you in a completely unexpected way. This happened to me with Kintsugi. It was one of my least ... read more
A friend of mine recommended this album to me. I had never heard anything of Chappell's before and I quickly fell in love with her music. Her aesthetic is heavily influenced by drag queens , the circus and tons of glitter. This became one of my favourite albums of 2023 out of nowhere. It's so vibrant and energetic. The ballads are somber, sweet and fall perfectly in place in the tracklist. I'm very excited to see where Chappell goes next. I'm a big fan now.

This album will withstand the test of time. Truly her magnum opus. I love each Lana album for very different reasons but this one captures something so special that I truly believe can't be replicated.
