The perfect album. Not my favourite jazz album I’ve heard, but structurally the production is absolutely next level, even tho every song is different they somehow seem to flow into the next perfectly. The 90s hip hop drum beat works Perfectly with the other instruments. The skill and creativity to make an album like this is amazing, I recommend putting this album on and not touching ur phone till it’s finished.
This song can fit right into any previous album, the slow guitar intro and atmouspheric background noise. Glad to see palace back on form
I've listened to K-Defs music for a while now and it seems everytime i stumble across a new songs, its a new favourite
The black eyed pea's take on a hip hop album excelled my expectation. As their debut album i expected it to be a pathetic attempt however they added their own rock hip hop take and it kinf of works. Not sure how i stumbled across thois album but I would give it another listen. Top song - Say Goodbye
From his previous album views breaking the internet with hotline bling it was crucial Drake made a solid album to keep his name on top, this album did not dissapoint. With a wide vareity of artists featured on the album and the last Drake album with decent rapping and not stupidly over auto tuned vocals.
The British rappers and Jorja Smith carrying the songs they were on is not a surprise, but its definitely another factor in what made this album a standout for drake
Its shown that this album was released just after the golden age of 90s hip hop (the wu-tang era) by the way Nas uses song names and lyrics to tell the listener how crazy the gangester 90s era was while also adding emotion and personal issues that spilled from all the crime and war that was going on e.g (the world is yours, Lifes a bitch).
What makes this album so different from anything produced around the same time is how Nas see's why his life style is different and crazy but cant escape. ... read more
As an album this is the purest form of upbeat reggae I have heard. Marley was a lyrical genius and 'the wailers' incredible background singing through out the album tops it. This album spreads the positive and up lifting message reggae was made for while also subtly talking about previous and current (for the time) political standpoints. God Bless this band and the giant spliff hes holding
The best mix of Soul, R&B, Hip Hop album out there
The drums in this album has set a whole new bar too be reached by other bands. Pure magic
The ability to have multiple rappers all dispensing a different flow to the same beat on a song is on a different level. Imagine a whole album... Masterclass. The use of multiple different instruments throughout the album completes it.
This album provides a new style of modern digital jazz with an occaioanl background techno beat, really a stand out album for me if your looking for background music but also something a little groovy. Wake up and Come Over are the stand out tracks for me as they provide a class of upbeat but relaxed vocals.
This album shows real musical talent and understanding. Throughout the album it has the correct mix of slow drums and gentle vocals then other songs consisting of dramatic drums and incredible vocals fitting the volume of all other instruments in the background.
True musical talent.
From his unique flow to the jazz background music this album is a true poem. Kofi tells the listener about struggles he had growing up while still expressing the perfect amount emotion showing he has grown but is still effected from his childhood. The way this album tells a story of his rise to fame and childhood allows us as the listener to appreciate how far he has come.
A true poem.
