I was skeptical because Freddie's best projects are with Madlib and Alchemist but this really satisfied, a lot of tracks I can play and feel good about.
Just an intro to tomorrow's album, the phone calls were obnoxious but Big Dump Ballad and Paulin Paulin Paulin had really good sounds IMO... can't really complain. Nothing stands out but I probably won't skip the first 2 min of Ballad. Paulin will likely be played more as well.
Great “storytelling” and great production. I’m curious to see how many true staples there are, but there are very few flops and a lot of potential… Lots of vulnerability and lots of unique flows. This album was very fun, curious to see how these tracks progress.
Favorites: Noid, St. Chroma, Judge Judy, Find Your Way Back Home
Least: Balloon
This might be my favorite album. Freddie Gibbs is FLOWWWING and The Alchemist is setting the standard from a production standpoint. Tyler. GREAT... Honestly, Rick Ross was great as well. Conway great , Benny The Butcher decent. Rare territory with just how many great songs are in this album.
Favorite songs: 1985, Scottie Beam, Look At Me, Something to Rap About, Baby $hit, Babies and Fools... lol 60% top tier songs on an album is crazy. Plus, every song flows into the next very well #ALCHEMIST
J.I.D is very talented, 2007 is one of the best songs I have ever heard.
Pretty weak, Benny is historically fire but maybe 1-2 songs worth listening to again...
$500 Ounces is so good... I don't love 327 as much as most but Tyler is cool. Freddie Gibbs is great, Benny the Butcher is great, Boldy James is great, and Westside Gunn is a master curator. LE Djoliba needs far more love IMO.
