The energy on this album is insane, I was shocked at the amount of meticulously well-crafted sounds and landscapes throughout the album.
Raw, Tender, Intricate and lyrically beautiful, Beatty encompasses the comfort in his life like no other. I was mesmerized at his vocal deliveries and profoundness throughout the album.
The album isn't bad; however, much of it does not work. The concept of a glimpse into a showgirl's life is intriguing however is half baked at the end. The latter half is very weak imo. The opening track is strong yet the album as a whole fails to deliver the same energy, and the one bold song is half assed. Charli's diss track is distasteful yet somehow is captivating enough to be catchy. Overall one of her weaker albums she's made :/
While I try to be nicer in my debut album reviews, this album hasn't impressed me. Audrey's biggest strength is her charisma/energy. She spreads such positive energy. It's hard not to be captivated seeing her perform. However, this is also a big problem as she is unable to translate that energy into her music. Conan is at his best with this new album, while not his most unique or interesting production-wise, this project offers something else entirely: A captivating emotional trainwreck of pop-rock indie songs. It is insanely catchy and heartfelt while also staying true to Conan's origin/ classic sounds. He doesn't stay repetitive or stagnant but instead builds off his past work perfectly tying his discography together.
