Y'all can hate this rating all you want but when It comes down to it I'm not very moved by this album. Sure it was influential and transformed music from entertainment to something that can hold meaning but that doesn't give it the green light to be a very good album. To be kind is another overrated album in my opinion. I can see the resemblance with Godspeed You! Black Emperor or maybe Mogwai but they don’t execute as good as either. This album deserves its own tier where pretentiousness lines up with weird taste because this album is pretty much just a bunch of messy chords, yelling vocals, and a weak message of love and the universe. Not very Impressed with this album I definitely expected a lot more considering all the praise it gets. It's redundant and every song has that same feel where he's just yelling into a microphone that doesn't even go with the music. It also felt like he was abusing the bass to the point where I could barely hear the actual instrumentals and it was just his voice and that bass competing for whoever is louder. I don't have much to say about this album more than it's great. It's sound definitely stands out for me but other than that I can't find much to write about. Nonetheless this album that fantastic and I'm excited to get into David Bowie's catalogue.
