To be honest, this one is probably in my top 10 albums of all time. I'm in love with shoegaze, and I really do think that Deathconsciousness is the best album in this particular genre, as I appreciate it even more than genre-classics such as Loveless or Souvlaki.

"Decent review, but I find the statement "but Katatonia haven't really moved forward sonically in years" a bit weird, considering that their last album - The Fall of Hearts - was a complete depature from their previous sound, insofar as it was their first progressive album. And I would also argue that City Burials offers some totally new sounds for the band - especially the electronic elements that are sprinkled throughout the album."
