I’m not exaggerating when I say I was literally emotional listening to this comeback. CODE is everything I needed and more. The nostalgia hit instantly this is what a real girl crush comeback sounds like. With this release, K-pop feels peak again.

The experimental production, the mixxpop structure, the industrial touches throughout the EP it scratches my brain in the best way possible. I genuinely don’t understand how EVERGLOW stay this consistent.

This mini album is honestly the sound I expected from aespa throughout their entire career. I loved their KWANGYA era, but after they shifted concepts, something felt different. And even NMIXX stepped away from their original mixxpop identity for a while. Meanwhile, EVERGLOW quietly took the crown.

The first two B-sides and the title track feel like three songs fused into one each. That chaotic, layered structure is exactly what I’ve been missing in girl group releases.

At this point, I truly believe EVERGLOW are the only girl group that consistently excels in the girl crush concept while keeping it fresh and experimental.

My only complaint? The EP is way too short. I needed at least two more tracks. I’m still hungry.
