I cannot believe that I loved her previous record and now we're here
what I am seeing is an attempt to capitalise on the boygenius' sound, but the way here they tried to find a middle ground between that and what Lucy has being doing all this time just lacks any juice. I am actually sad I didn't like this.
As a person who loves The Weeknd's music usually and rated very highly the previous records in this trilogy (85 and 92, respectively, to After Hours and Dawn FM), I am profoundly disappointed by how bloated is this record and how uninspired and soulless this piece of music feels. Cut half of the tracks and you won't actually mess anything up, but will make this record be ways less b-o-r-i-n-g.
Listening to this album, I can personally compare it to the moment when you understand that Santa Claus definitely doesn't exist and that's... normal.

can somebody explain to me how he managed in one singular year put out HMHAS with Billie (which he produced the hell out of, his work there is fantastic) and to put out the most average alt pop record possible?...
I feel like I should like it more when I'm not listening to it for the sake of rating, because from this perspective it is rather boring...
I'm sorry, but this stinks of mediocrity and I love The Weeknd's music usually
DESIRE and DANCEFLOOR feel like such nice callbacks to 2000s dance music... All in all very solid record, I love the production here, the vocals and the flow everywhere play off of each other very well. Feel like these guys can make some noise in the scene someday soon
