Here goes another rec I took from another band with a similar style I follow
They def know their stuff cause Dea Matrona has a very cool and badass album, that's very out there, carrying lots of bite and attitude, but also intimate for both the sensual feeling of the music and the softer and more open and honest moments, too.
The band is composed of 2 girls from Ireland and you can def hear their roots. They seem to be inspired by yes, classic 2000's indie like Arctic Monkeys, with ... read more
I'm excited for their future
It's crazy how much one can overlook when you find artists or bands on social media. I remember hearing their song Goodnight on a playlist of another full female indie rock band they had of artists they were listening to. I went to check them on Youtube cause their name sounded familiar and was like "Oh, they're the ones who did the Phoebe Bridgers cover that came up in my recommended". Later found out they'd been all over my socials ... read more
Glad I took the recommendation.
See, the internet can be a weird place, but sometimes you gotta trust the algorithm or the artists your fav band could be related to or show love to. Let’s get to the point, the band floods with personality. I could sit here and write about the many reasons why the LP works so well, but really ... read more
This is peak 1975
When I think of The 1975 this is the sound (npi) that I think of. Sure, their debut plays a part in the creation of it and you can't speak of one without the other when it comes to what defines the band's whole style. But it's rare that a sophomore album not only updates everything they've created on their first release, but also manages to be experimental and way more introspective. It truly is a standout in the 10's indie scene.
Don't get me ... read more
