Vibes were had, but it wasn't nearly as solid compared to Wasteland Baby or his debut.
a spaghetti western concept album, you can practically smell the gunpowder and dry Arizona heat from this album. it's fun and different so i can give it props for that. instrumentation and vocals are on point. its really not that bad! Has a classic southern rock vibe like 38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd. it just gets a bit samey after a while.
my faves: antioch, feets, the wolf
i mean....its not the worst thing ever but its not the greatest. at all. it's a massive shrug and a pass from me. very forgettable and watered down compared to what they used to make.
I wasn't sure what to expect when listening to this album, but i was surprised when i heard a synthpop techno/house kind of vibe from the first song. Which btw, a 10 minute boring loop is not how i would choose to open the album but c'est la vie. I thought overall it was underwhelming. It doesn't make a lot of moves, it's all the same. And it doesn't hit hard. It plays very safe which is its detriment. I know Metric can bring that driving force, so i was disappointed.

Clint Eastwood is a badass but this album was about as exciting as watching paint dry on a wall. He has a decent voice but that's about it for redeemable qualities on this album.
The best and probably the only place you're gonna hear all of Elvis's songs that he made with Sun Records before moving to RCA. It has literally everything, from his very first $4 track he cut with them to all the hits. Sure not all the tracks have the most impressive sound quality, but this is the 50s we're talking about here in a studio that wasn't the most high tech. My main gripe with this is it's pretty bloated with multi takes of the same track, and i think this is at least maybe 3 CDs. ... read more
I don't like a lot of the collabs on this soundtrack. Most of it makes no sense lol. I can appreciate the fact they took some of Elvis's tunes and cleaned them up a bit though. And the Austin Butler centered tunes where he sang on were amazing. The only collab song i thought that worked was the one with Jack White. But listen, soundtrack aside, the film was amazing.
An Essential blues/rock album to listen to. Not only is the album cover iconic in the fact that others have replicated it (ex. The Clash London Calling), But he sounds fantastic on his first record. And the tracks are just as legendary.
Going through all of Lana's albums from old to present. I thought this was a descent listen. It has some of her classic tunes on here. But I felt like it was more or less all variations of the same.
My faves: Blue Jeans, Video Games, Radio, Summertime Sadness
Whimsical, playful, and quirky. It's Regina Spektor, what more could you possibly be looking for from an album of hers?
Faves: Becoming all Alone, Raindrops
A much better music project than Calpurnia for Finn. It feels like he finally got a hold of his musical influences and made them into his own. He matured into his voice and The Aubreys overall is a much more well-rounded package. While it's a step up from Calpurnia, this album kind of drags on a little too long. There isn't a whole lot of diversity, but instrumentation is on point. A very sweet album.
my faves: same as you, karaoke alone, i dont bite, blue
Quite catchy. For their debut album it's about what i expected. There's nothing glaringly monumental about this album, but it is cohesive and it's an easy listen. I guess i could agree with the other reviews that call this generic. I do love Chrissie's voice though, that's the shining star.
I'm not a fan of country music, sans a little folk rock. But I must say, this was lovely. Dreamy, ethereal, and sometimes pained emotional vocals. Love me some slide guitar. A relaxing, comforting, breezy album. But it also cuts deep.
Faves: All the Good Times, Ghost On, Right Now
A bubbly, jaunty, insanely energized album. His vocals are pretty iconic. When you hear him, you know its The Fratellis. I like the big band backing some of the tracks. But I mostly enjoy their indie rock tunes. Costello Music is fun! I wouldn't classify this as garage rock though, absolutely not. It's a bit too theatrical for that label. Indie pub rock is accurate. They have some really catchy beats throughout, alongside some playful lyrics, and it's really well produced. I'm a fan! While not ... read more
Probably one of the most rough, underproduced indie albums you'll listen to. Which is endearing. This is very easily digestible, and mostly inoffensive on the ears. You don't have to put in a lot of effort to listen to this. And that works with the whole vibe. Because it sounds like they recorded this album on a tape recorder in a messy, overpriced studio apartment in New York City while stoned. It's cute and kinda funny, but that's where I end my review lol.

Is this really "garage rock"? This feels like a Nirvana and Oasis blend to me. His vocals aren't that bad, i like the gritty rasp he's got. But I fail to see how this provides any sort of underground garage punk status. I agree with one of the commenters on here that it's definitely commercialized. punk / brit-rock. (I know they're not a british band, but the brit-rock genre makes sense with what this album gives sound wise). Some good moments on this album but it mostly falls ... read more
Woaaahh, amber is the color of your energyyy. I went in blind not knowing anything about 311 besides their song Amber. So when i heard this album open with some kind of Limp Bizkit flavor I was like...what? And I continued to say "what?" as the album went on. I don't think this style works for them. They're blending a lot of things and it doesn't stick. The vocals are also not good. The guitar riffs are kind of generic. Are they punk? Are they Nu-metal? Are they Alternative? Are they ... read more
