Sampha - Lahai
64

Uhhhh........yep, it's kind of a hit and miss album, I respect the vocals on this thing, songwriting is great on many of the songs, talks about topics like, love, self-discovery and realisation, but it feels like every pop song, but written better and produced more uniquely. Maybe it's a new kind of music to me, alt r&b, but listening to blonde is a lot better experience than this one. I don't know, i'm confused. Also predictable, ironically

Earl Sweatshirt - Some Rap Songs
84

This is my first introduction to abstract hip hop. This album is very vivid, creative, emotional. Earl is born for this. He is such a good lyricist and an underrated producer on the project. Rip to his father. A must listen. It may be difficult at some parts as it may be a whole new genre for you.

Westside Gunn - And Then You Pray For Me
63

This is the starting of my long format reviews, so enjoy :)
The album starts of strong with mamas primetime and kostas, 1989 is probably the worst on the album. Really inconsistent, it has less but really good bangers. Stove god cooks was awful except on babylon bis, the best track on the album. In some songs, westside is going offbeat which i don't think is on purpose. Productions is weak on many of the songs. This album is kinds just westside+stove god. Rome streetz had a great feature. A ... read more

Drake - For All The Dogs
27

why drake? piece of ass, shit, every song sounds the fuckin' same, grow up man! runnin the same shit since the last 8 years. Whining about girls on every song

Tyler, The Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST
83

The layering of vocals and instrumentals on this record is amazing. Tyler's best rapping performances yet.

Benny the Butcher - Tana Talk 3
91

Man this album is nothing but fuckin' heat, no bars wasted from benny. I assure you will get a stankface for the whole 52 minutes. The production from darringer and the alchemist is beautiful. the coke bars, gun references, double entendres, sports references just add up to how great of a lyricist benny is. This line is my favorite-
"Red laser on the nickel, turn a hater into a hindu"
no offense to any religion

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Bandana
79

This the more melodic, popy album from freddie. We still find freddie in top form, with some great features. I don't think he is at it's full potential with some of the album's more commercial-like beats.

Griselda - WWCD
61

I had so much expectations with this album but seriously-
"I do, do my homework
I do, I do put in my own work"
- 50 cent
This is one of the worst bars I've ever heard in my life, even it was referencing westside gunn. Eminem feature was mid to trash, but the songs which are strong are fuckin' carryin' this shit.

JID - DiCaprio 2
77

Impeccable rhyme schemes, thoughtful lyricism really makes up for the album. As the album progressed, the tracks started getting weaker. Many tracks have good substance but lack emotion. Still, a great album from jid, and wish him best for his future endeavors.

Mac Miller - K.I.D.S. (Kickin' Incredibly Dope Shit)
75

The first i solid, with some great bangers, it slows downs as it progresses. Some corny bars here and there, and a lot of late 2000s pop rap influence. Still a solid album from mac.

Favorites- Nikes on my feet, Paper route, Poppy

Frank Ocean - Blonde
82

Beautiful, emotional, vulnerable, hopeful. Frank shows why he is one of the most loved artists.

Pusha T - DAYTONA
85

A fucking slapper of an album

Kanye West - ye
78

Although the rapping isn't the main topic here, it has some of the beautiful musical landscapes and a great concept behind it. But not much of a replay album.

Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist - Alfredo
72

although the production is great, album is inconsistent and why god is perfect and baby shit are classified as great songs. They are bad.
