From shimmering synths to heartfelt ballads, Metric's first offering in their discography leaves little room for disappointment. A strong debut from the team and some real single power from songs like Dead Disco and Combat Baby, both are incredible songs in their own right. Lovely instrumentation and a cohesive narrative about a world on the brink of absolute destruction following the turn of the new millenium. I absolutely adore this record and it's aged like a fine wine.
I can say that between their old works and their newest they have made major improvements. This album is a continuation of their EP POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR. Themes of this album is the post apocalyptic, cyberpunk, dystopian society. I love the tracks that are real head bangers like YOUtopia, Kool-Aid, liMOusIne, and a bulleT w/ my namE On. As well as slower and more introspective songs such as sTraNgeRs, DIg It and DArkSide. Can someone tell this man not to title his tracks while hes ... read more

This album is mixed and intended to be listened to on a vinyl record, so the digital versions are a bit strange, but it sounds very well made regardless. I love the lyrics, the fact he has moved to a nostalgic sound reminiscent of the early days of the White Stripes. It feels straight from the ... read more
Their sound on the prior album being a bit more safe and commercial based, at least makes sense in the lore, but to listen kinda made it a boring album, though still had some very solid tracks. Clancy seeks to return to the sound on Trench. I love songs like Overcompensate for a very good soundscape as well as flowing very well between Tyler’s singing and his rapping, the song choices flow well together. Only track I cant seem to fully get behind is Next Semester, the opening is pretty ... read more
This album comes to us after a very solid prior album, Fake Tunes, released in 2019. The Key To What touches on socio-political topics as well as more introspective dialogue, from the song Adderall/Ambien where he talks about the over prescribing of drugs to “medicate” young americans with ADHD, or more introspective tracks like Intrusive Thoughts which is a deep dive into the views surrounding the state of affairs around the country. The album is a jaded message about the follies ... read more
