Personal Highlights: I Left My Heart in Ladera, 2 Step in the Living Room, Paradise
Personal Lowlights: Dear Issa, La Brea & Stocker
Colours 2 didn't quite capture the spark of PartyNextDoor’s earlier projects. While the moody production and late-night tone remain intact, the EP’s conciseness and lack of variation give it a placeholder feel. Cohesive but underwhelming, solid enough to enjoy, yet far from his most inspired work.
Highlights: PEACE OF MIND
Lowlights: LOW BATTERY
PND3 aims to capture the spark that made PND's earlier work so enjoyable. The album didn't deliver consistently and ultimately felt somewhat dragged out and repetitive. However, the moody, emotional peaks of the album are what make this album so memorable.
Highlights: Come and See Me, Don't Run, Not Nice
Lowlights: Brown Skin, Transparency
Colours deviates from PartyNextDoor's momentum, lacking the sharpness and consistency that were seen in his earlier work. The first half of the album was auspicious, but by the second half, it had lost all of its steam, feeling like filler.
Highlights: LET'S GET MARRIED
Lowlights: DON'T WORRY
Coming off the greatness of his debut project, PARTYNEXTDOOR TWO shows Brathwaite sharpening his dark/nocturnal R&B formula with smooth, atmospheric tracks that deliver that coveted sleek late night vibe. A worthy successor to his amazing debut project.
Highlights: Recognize, Her Way, Belong to the City
Lowlights: N/A
