Day 97
David Bowie's Low is one of the few Bowie albums I hadn't heard before. I certainly wasn't expecting this masterpiece. I thought I'd heard all of Bowie's good albums already, and my dislike of the cover may be a part of why I wasn't prepared. The first album in Bowie's so-called Berlin trilogy is also one of his best. With the help of Iggy Pop and Brian Eno, Low is incredibly cool and very "krautrocky", which is a plus for me.
Day 96
After seeing sentimental value twice, Labi Siffre really stuck in my head. His Crying Laughing Loving Lying is 70s pop at its best. Very simple but catchy songs that still hold up today.
Day 95
My new band believe shows the non-Geordie side of black midi. It's clear that Cameron Picton's style was significant to much of black midis catalogue. On my new band believes's self-titled album we get some really fun and nice progressive folk. Works well. Great album.
(Time to catch the fuck up I've been slacking)
Day 94
Neurosis' style is so incredibly good and are defining what cool metal is for me. Raw guitars, heavy riffs and awesome vocals. It's great that the band, 30 years later, can still release very good music.
Day 93
Exeter is one of the only Bladee albums I hadn't listened to yet. It wasn't a day too late. What makes Exeter so incredibly good is that it's very simple and catchy, it's different from the very euphoric feel of early Bladee, but instead fills a different function. Exeter is one of Bladee's best projects!
