Death In June - All Pigs Must Die

the first half which is a batch of acoustic songs is par for the course for death in june, it's pretty enjoyable imo; the second half however, is some of the worst noise music i've ever heard

Skin - Shame, Humility, Revenge

this era of gira and jarboe's music is fascinating, i absolutely adore michael gira's acoustic guitar stuff in general so this is right up my alley. i dont know why the skin albums arent talked about more, to me they're enchanting neofolk; dark, beautiful but also menacing, there's a sense of reservedness to the skin albums that i can't get enough of

Darkthrone - Goatlord

this album is my favorite one from darkthrone, i cant really explain it i just CRAVE the exquisitely yummy drum playing and raw and organic sound of the whole album. the harsh vocals by fenriz are very jagged and that made it initially hard for me to get into goatlord, however i love them now; he also experiments by clean singing in a feminine voice and it's juxtaposed to his harsh growls, it's fascinating imo

Various Artists - Statement

wow.. i found this album to sound shockingly good for a 1984 power electronics release. the consumer electronics tracks are especially entertaining to hear a very young (15yo?!? 😭) Philip Best shouting dirty words

:zoviet*france: - Gris

i love this zoviet france ep so much 🙏

Death In June - "NADA PLUS!"
90

Last Farewell is one of the best songs pretty much ever

Darkthrone - Total Death

used to play so much Doom to this album <3

Vobiscum - Christenblut

Did I listen to this purely based on the cute as FUCK cover?
Yes, Yes I did and yes it was pretty nice

Sortsind - Fald

Hideous and Gorgeous
Trying to find stuff from this compilation, i came across the seventh track on youtube titled as "Svig & Smerte acoustic session recorded on portable tape recorder in France aug. 97"; it was passionate, astoundingly beautiful and somehow harrowing to hear. i knew i would fall in love with Fald and that's exactly what ensued.
Sår was hellish, my god it was a hellish album; with only sparse moments of quiet that somehow made the incoming assault of the ... read more

Sorgeldom - …From Outer Intelligences

my gosh, this album felt like a warm blanket! an album where every element is familiar to my ears but just, so infectiously and seamlessly put together that i was left mesmerized the whole way through.

Ulver - Nattens madrigal: Aatte hymne til ulven i manden

you know... lately i've been LOVING -swarm of bees attacking you- guitars in black metal, something i never had an affinity for before; was looking for stuff of the same ilk and suddenly- "RIGHT! ULVER'S ALBUM WITH THE WOLF!!!!!" something i also never had an affinity for before
please recommend me things you know i will love thank you so much <3

why don't i enjoy this album way more?!
Abigail's album absolutely isn't without its sensational aspects, i recognize sooo much cool shit here but i think it might be just one of Those weird cases for me; i can't get into it and to be honest it kind of frustrates me too. i dont know maybe im dumb go listen to this anyway

Seviss - Et pleure le bâtard...

just... GNARLY! oh yeah, pretty awesome :D

Këkht Aräkh - Night & Love

i felt really warm listening to this. Këkht Aräkh is cool

폐허 [Pyha] - 길닦음
90

Indescribable album, i am very happy i found it :D

Urfaust - Verräterischer, Nichtswürdiger Geist
95

Verflucht das Blenden der Erscheinung is one of the most agonizing black metal i've ever heard; the rest of this album is just as strong in emotion. i love

Imperial Crystalline Entombment - Apocalyptic End In White

I feel like this album exists in that weird space for me where i Know what they wanted to achieve is masterfully executed, yet i can't help my indifference. really cool album if you like technically proficient, blisteringly fast dry pummeling drums and frosty non-caveman guitar playing; for me, it's not a metal sound i particularly love... (i am soooo bad with describing what i do and dont love in metal lol) however, Behold Thy Frozen Arctic Kingdom i will listen to time and time again, this ... read more

Sortsind - Sår

yes, i am convinced this is from actual hell
Drømme om evig nat is the Gnarliest piece of music i've heard in a while

Sepultura - A-Lex

the electronic interludes on this are the best parts for me; i love Derrick Green's voice but even he cant save the heavy songs from boring me to death (and giving me a mild headache, it might just have to do with me not having slept a whole lot by the time of listening to this but im blaming the album); with that said... Filthy Rot, We've Lost You, Sadistic Values & Paradox are pretty cool
fav track: A-Lex IV 🔥🔥🔥🔥 lets gooooooooooooo

Kleistwahr - Over Your Heads Forever

there is no way this isn't a 100 for me, it is gorgeeooooous and sooooo emotional
