For a Hardwired continuation, it's better than it's preceder. 72 Seasons doesn't have the high points of Hardwired and it's full of artificial song writing elements that is being self-plagiarized ,Title track starts off like Spit Out the Bone and ends up like Moth Into Flame. But, Hardwired's second half is bloated with unnecessary, forgettable shit so much so that this below average, sanitized Hardwired is better than what it was copied from. 5 minutes intro for such an average black metal record is overconfident. Decent and enjoyable most of the time but not memorable.
3 guitar tracks and orchestral keyboard parts weren't enough to save this album from being stale and sound uninspired at some parts. The effort is there but it isn't for me. Atleast this album is doing some stuff right. Ihsahn's vocals are great as always and the album completely leaves Emperor's symphonic drenched song writing behind. Production is good enough to make you notice the difference between each 3 tracks.
