I can understand why Tall Tales hasn't been super well-received. Personally, on first listen, while I enjoyed most of the first half decently enough, by the time I reached the end all I felt was a reeking sense of vapidity, emptiness, and pointlessness, so I do see why that's all the majority of people seem to be getting out of it.

Listened on repeat during a cloudy early-morning roadtrip through southern Kansas, the Texas panhandle, and rural New Mexico as a thunderstorm brewed in the distance. I think that pretty much sums it up.
