Dork
PVA have long accomplished their goal of gathering people together to rave, but took their time building towards a release that can encompass that energy while revitalising it for newcomers; the ambitious mission is beautifully translated into an accessible but rich invigoration of the group’s own style on ‘BLUSH’.

NME
With a much broader emotional range than their early material, the trio's debut pulses with real dancefloor power.

DIY
A collection of wonderful and curious songs perfect for soundtracking that 3am dancefloor feeling - or maybe just your nightmares.

Northern Transmissions
Despite the record’s “rocky road” ‘BLUSH’ is a sonic and emotional triumph. Resistance is futile, embrace that chokehold, PVA is are something special.

Loud and Quiet

If 2020’s Toner EP was a post-punk/techno fusion, Blush’s bed of acid and industrial-sized beats pushes PVA further towards the intersection of a traditional band set-up and the speaker-stacked dancefloor.

NOW: BLUSH

The present and future sound strange.
PVA's BLUSH isn't a radical change from what they do, but it is a substantial improvement over the Toner EP.
The percussion is a major draw; Untethered is one of the most striking tracks in that regard, also aided by the synth work here. Very well produced, it makes for danceable songs, along with the drums, and with that futuristic EBM (Electronic Body Music) sound that I find fantastic (maybe I should ... read more

Brief Review: Good dance punk album. Not really much else to say about it apart from that tbh, it's just a fun time. Production for the most part is really creative and vibrant, the vocals are nice, albeit kinda monotonous throughout the whole thing, but eh, that's just kinda a dance punk thing anyway, so I'm not too mad about it. Overall, it's just a fun time, nothing really groundbreaking or anything, but still, fun time here :).

While PVAs latest record leans into the psychedelic and darker aspects of their sound, their debut “BLUSH” leans into a trippier, more abrasive tone and atmosphere. The record’s main strength is the incredible and colorful production that emerges from the synths and melodies that make this record sound like a nightmarish trip, along with the bizarre and sometimes abstract lyricism that carried on from their debut EP “Toner,” which here is way more stylized and ... read more

The production on this album was genuinely amazing; I loved the combination of synthpop with heavier, more industrial sounds. However, the vocal performances and songwriting were a bit lackluster. Thus, despite the amazing instrumentations, I still find the album kind of forgettable at times. I might revisit this album though as it had potential.

I guess it hurt listening to the latest one first (reverse trend)

Intriguing band.
