Pupil Slicer - Fleshwork
97

WOAH WOAH WOAH hold on a second... this is absolutely fucking amazing!!! I found this band through a random Instagram post and thought they sounded pretty cool so I decided to give their latest album a listen... and it's peak. Talk about a diamond in the rough... this thing never stops churning out intensity and harsh vocals and honestly if you can give me those things and make it sound good to me, then I'm all on board. Super impressed and will definitely check out their other albums ... read more

Lip Critic - Theft World

Very large range in quality here, from the glorious production on the first 2 minutes of Talon to the absolutely abysmal drop on Jackpot (genuinely one of the worst musical moments i've ever heard). Very disappointed as this should've been a really cool album.

Mandy, Indiana - URGH
92

Users with a miss on this one, definitely one of the coolest albums i've ever heard.

Gris - Il était une forêt...
99

I thought I knew what I was getting into when I hit play on this album. I was expecting a cool black metal album that sounded a bit sad in some parts. What I was not expecting was an album so loud and soul crushing that it was forcing tears out of my eyes. But that's exactly what I got. And I surely wasn't expecting this album to be beautiful at all... but what I listened to is the most beautiful album I've ever heard.

I can't really analyze this album... I mean, I only ... read more

Anna von Hausswolff - ICONOCLASTS
96

Yeah, this solidifies 2025 as one of the best years for music ever. This is one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard and Anna's vocal performance is just phenomenal. I nearly cried during the title track... I haven't had such an emotional reaction to a first-time listen to any song in my life.

Geese - Getting Killed
84

The instrumentals were very nice the entire album, though the first few tracks had some moments that the track just felt like it was meandering aimlessly. Those songs were changing, but not progressing. Most of the way after the first few tracks, however, they seem to figure things out... except for the highest rated song according to this website, Taxes. I don't see what other people seem to see in this song, as it's really mediocre to me and would easily be the worst song here if it ... read more

Magdalena Bay - Second Sleep / Star Eyes
86

Second Sleep is absolutely amazing, but Star Eyes feels really awkward. Hopefully Star Eyes grows on me a bit, as it's still a really nice song.

Uboa - All the Dead Melt Down as Rain
94

God, I've liked Uboa's other work a lot, but this was way more intense and amazing than I expected out of a release the artist classified as a "mini-LP." I might give this a larger review later as I have many more thoughts and feelings about this.

Jane Remover - Revengeseekerz
63

Wasn't really my thing, but Dreamflasher and JRJRJR were pretty good.

Uboa - Coma Wall
92

Holy crap... I can't even give this a rating after the first listen. That might be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Don't get me wrong, that was great, I just need to give this a few more listens to give it a rating, at the expense of my mental health.

Radiohead - The King of Limbs
79

Bloom is amazing, the rest is good but can get boring at times, except Give Up the Ghost which is also exceptional, but not the level that Bloom is.

my bloody valentine - m b v
89

To me it honestly is much better than Loveless, kinda disappointed in myself for not checking this one out earlier.

The Smile - Cutouts
84

Just had a good time listening to this, it isn't anything crazy or groundbreaking, and I like it, it's just a really nice listen for me. I didn't listen to any singles beforehand, and my favorite song was Foreign Spies, as it was beautiful and a great way to start the album.

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
59

Some beautiful moments, but so many songs drag so much in the verses it's hard to get much enjoyment out of them. Fotzepolitic is amazing though.

Beach House - Depression Cherry
90

The first three tracks are great. Beyond Love and 10:37 are well made... but they just kinda exist for me. PPP is great as well, lyrics were great, I mean, the imagery in the lyrics on this track is some of the best I've heard, and the outro was great. The final three songs are good, but don't live up to the first three and PPP. Overall, solid dream pop album.

Update: PPP might be the best song ever made

James Blake - Bad Cameo
83

When I listened to Transport Me I unleashed the biggest smile I have ever smiled, it's just so good.

Radiohead - Kid A
91

Very good album, but Motion Picture Soundtrack kinda misses the mark for me.

Kendrick Lamar - meet the grahams
NR

This is just Kendrick murdering Drake with no remorse.

Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You
95

Hadn't heard much about this album.
All I heard is that it was good.
Was in the mood to listen to something I hadn't heard before.
It didn't disappoint.

Edit: May 4
I've been listening to this album at least once a week now, it's so good.

MGMT - Little Dark Age

Don't know why everyone is saying the first half is much better than the second half, sure the second half starts a little slow, but it holds it's own, especially with One Thing Left to Try and When You're Small. Just realized I should've waited another hour so I could have reviewed this album on it's 6th anniversary, oh well. I'm hoping Loss of Life is an improvement of a good album in Little Dark Age, the singles are giving me hope for sure.
