Short demo albums are often a good way to disclose a new sound or developing style. If that's the goal of this album pray for Dominic Fike fans because it's not even close to the quality of any of his other stuff.
Although I can confidently say this album is overrated, it's very good.
Ironically, the influence Bowie has had on some of my favourite artists is so obvious even though I've never really cared for his music. The effect this album has had on modern rock and glam rock music is immense and it deserves its props for that of course. However, this is certainly not the best album ever nor is it the best of the genre.
After reworking ATAVISTA, I expected big things. Although this isn't close to the quality of Awaken, My Love or Because the Internet there are some very good songs here and this has some of his best stuff.
After being so excited for his debut album, safe to say I'm disappointed by Channel Tres.
By no means is this a bad album but given his singles he's released and features with KAYTRANADA and Jungle, etc. I am disappointed that this album was not nearly up to scratch. It certainly leaves room to be improved and I'm still excited to see what's next.
