Love the soundscape of this album, tbh maybe more than EUSEXUA (although that album’s highs are much higher than those on here). ‘Afterglow’ also feels like twigs returning/revisiting her earlier sound in a way that doesn’t feel cheap or rehashed, and that couldn’t be more apparent on the insane closer that is ‘Stereo Boy’.
This gave me Atopos vibes. Massive and makes me so excited for LUX
Great additions to an already great album. Loving this lush sound on her!
Quintessential Latin album of the year. Such a fun and varied production, it sort of feels like a more personal and matured version of his ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’ album
Somehow… this isn’t the abysmal record I thought it would be. However, you can obviously tell that she’s so creatively stagnant and this was released for a quick buck. The writing is, at times, super out of touch and for an album fully produced by Max Martin, it feels like she never left Mr. Antonoff.
This is Short N’ Sweet. Just a little more boring.
P.S. I’m hating this era of artists dropping albums so close to each other, the music all ends up blending into each other and it kind of feels disposable.
Midnight Sun aims to push Zara Larsson into a more ‘serious’ pop stratosphere while she simultaneously doesn’t take herself too seriously, and it all paid off!
For an artist as hit-or-miss as Miley Cyrus, this album is so well-structured and thought-out. Obviously she has had her ‘artsy’ moments in the past, but they all feel small when compared to this album. Such a shame it was looked over, but I’m sure people will come to their senses in a few years!
Great singles, but having them clustered all in the first half of the album felt a little sloppy (altho I know JADE said she didn’t intend for it to be that way). Some of the new songs are great, others feel filler-y.
Solid R&B album, even if it’s nothing overwhelmingly special. Eternal Flame to Burning Blue run is great.
devastating is too small of a word to describe this album
CUNTISSIMO had the perfect balance of being catchily corny and well produced. The rest of the album should have followed suite, but the rest of the album falls very flat.
Addison studied some great artists for her debut album, but it often feels hollow and lacks a personal spark. Regardless, I am excited to see her grow because this seems like a genuine passion for her!
Ever since her ‘big’ breakthrough, there’s been little to no artistic growth and this song makes it even more apparent
Oklou’s talents shine through in songs like ‘take me by the hand’ and ‘harvest sky’, but it all culminates in ‘blade bird’, a gem that is a strong contender for SOTY. Wish the rest of the album could have been less filler-y.
