overall great album, but has a stark change in sound from ethereal and dream-like to basically shibuya-kei thats Very jarring on a first listen. the second half is by no means Bad, but the tonal whiplash overall brought the album down from a 89-90 to mid 80s. the last track kinda brought it back for me

this is The song ever. The first, the best, and if it were up to me the Only. everything that came after is an inferior imitation

i envy everyone who saw this album release in their early adult years. hoping my generation gets a d'angelo sometime in the future. R.I.P
