Paul McCartney - The Boys of Dungeon Lane

Anyone listening to a new Paul McCartney album hears not only the new album, but implicitly also everything that preceded it. For that reason alone, *The Boys Of Dungeon Lane* sounds like a chunk of nostalgia. Add to that the fact that on *The Boys Of Dungeon Lane*, McCartney often harks back to the musical styles he himself shaped, and that on this record he provides those styles with lyrics centering on time, and you can no longer decently avoid the word nostalgia.

Lucy Clearwater - People ≠ Possessions

“Good things come slowly,” goes an age-old Dutch saying. That certainly applies to American folk singer Lucy Clearwater. After an initial EP in 2020 (Feel Again), a series of standalone tracks followed, but a debut album remained elusive. She steadily continued working on her own sound and fanbase. Now, in 2026, the time is ripe for that debut album, titled People ≠ Possessions. While “worth the wait” may not be a typical Dutch saying, it is entirely applicable to ... read more

Despite many creative ways time travel can be achieved in films (including a jacuzzi, a phone booth, and a DMC DeLorean), time travel has proven impossible in practice. Mamas Gun also contributes their phonetic share on their seventh studio album, titled DIG!. For years, the band has sounded as if they are looking directly over the shoulders of soul legends like Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye.

The driving force behind Mamas Gun's success is Andy Platts, the ... read more

Charlie Puth - Whatever's Clever!

On Charlie Puth’s fourth studio album – Whatever’s Clever! – life is smiling upon him again. While on his previous album (CHARLIE from 2022) he was processing the trauma of a broken relationship in a dozen songs, in 2026 he sings about the process of growing up in just as many tracks. Naturally, that doesn't happen without a struggle. What stands out most is that his lyrics have an old-fashioned sincerity: less irony, more wisdom, and entertaining without becoming ... read more
