While I think this is probably Portisheads weakest, it is still incredible and a masterpiece in it's own right. This is probably the most intimate and vulnerable album they released especially from a lyrical side. A lot of very personal lyrics and I think it leads to very strong emotional moments. I will say I think the step away from the trip hop sound on this album has it's hits and misses, I think some of the more experimental and rock oriented songs on this album are definitely some of the stronger parts but there are some songs where I can't help but think it would've worked a lot better with their former sound. That being said I still think this project is great and the later half of this album really is incredible and some of the bands best work.
