I had a really funny review for if I didn't like this album, but this album is kinda awesome, so like lets just pretend I didn't like this album okay? Alright thanks.

Ahem, okay.

Underscores? More like Overscored am I right!?

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA

Me personally, not the stickiest guy out there but I try. You're asking a lot from me you know Tyler. You too Ms. Red and Ms. Rilla. And don't get me started on you Mr. Wayne.. Tyler teach me how to get sticker, cause I don't know if I'm meeting your standards you know? I don't want to let you down man, you and the others all were really insistent on getting sticky, and I'm sure it's fun but idk I just feel really left out right now you know man? Like ... read more

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

It took me a while but.. I get it.

Strawberry Switchblade - Strawberry Switchblade

I be having a great time, super happy, and then BOOM! Being Cold hits.

Geordie Greep - The New Sound
98

This one feels like It's only gonna grow on me. It's so good, surprisingly deep lyrically despite the absurdness of the concepts at times. The instrumentation is amazing, and super fun. While Greep as a vocalist is something that rubbed me the wrong way for a long time, I've warmed up to it, and he's also really hit a stride with this album.

Edit: I LOVE THIS ALBUM I NEED IT INSID EME RIGHT NOW PUT IT IN MY HEART AND MY BRAIN AND MY SOUL AND IN FACT MAYBE I'LL EVEN ... read more

Death Grips - Government Plates

Some interesting ideas instrumentally but the writing and performances just aren't there. A lot of the songs feel half baked and incomplete, some songs end to soon and others drag too long. It's quite a mess honestly but there are still some pretty decent songs to pick out here and there that do keep me coming back from time to time.

Fiona Apple - When the Pawn...

I like when she says some Dr. Seuss shit and makes it hit deep within me.

Alvvays - Blue Rev

While I still feel a few songs on this album get a little lost in the shuffle and are a little forgettable, this album is easily the bands most consistent and well performed project so far. The back half of this project is really strong and I feel this is definitely a step in the right direction for the band.

Alvvays - Antisocialites

Not something I see myself coming back to a lot but it's super fun while it's on. The whole album sounds great and is really well produced and a lot of the vocals are also great and really compliment the music well. Overall it's a really fun and vibey project that I had a fun time listening to.

¥$ - VULTURES 2

Bomb might be the worst thing I've ever heard.

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU

IT'S EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!

Jokes aside though this album is Peggy's most consistent and cohesive project to date. All the beats are great, some really crazy and sometimes beautiful sample work. The performances from both Peggy and the features are amazing, and the bars are also what you'd expect at this point. That being said, it seems Peggy is really digging into a more personal and introspective bag on this album and this leads to some really emotional parts of this album which ... read more

This album is a lot to unpack, I don't really know what to say about it right now. It's frantic and harrowing, and at time it's absurd. But when I look deeper I see guilt and grief being poured out in a way that is so artistically interesting and perfect. It feels I am truly watching the deepest emotions of oneself laid out in front of me and I am left guilty in my curiosity.

samlrc - A Lonely Sinner

This album is just absolutely beautiful. It's hard to truly review an album that is so personal and emotional, so I will keep it brief. This album is packed with some unreal production and instrumentation, and it really blew my mind multiple times. The lyrics are very well put together and impactful, even as someone who can't fully relate to everything being said I think you can really feel how much these lyrics are unpacking. I guess my only real gripe with this album is I think some ... read more

Denzel Curry - King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2
82

I don't think this album is something we will look back on a lot within Denzels catalog, but it does still have some great highlights and really just feels like Denzel is having fun, and listening to it I had a lot of fun, and I think that's all that matters. My main complaint is I think some songs could have maybe befitted from being longer and a lot of the features are way too short and end up kinda just contributing nothing. Aside from that, I think this is a fun project, nothing ... read more

Portishead - Third
92

While I think this is probably Portisheads weakest, it is still incredible and a masterpiece in it's own right. This is probably the most intimate and vulnerable album they released especially from a lyrical side. A lot of very personal lyrics and I think it leads to very strong emotional moments. I will say I think the step away from the trip hop sound on this album has it's hits and misses, I think some of the more experimental and rock oriented songs on this album are definitely ... read more

Portishead - Dummy

I think this album is a tad overrated, it's great don't get me wrong, but I think they were still figuring out their sound and because of that they didn't experiment too much with this album. I think that's okay, and the band sticks to what they're great at with this album and makes an incredible debut album with sounds that are honestly mind blowing for 94. I just think the band would reach greater highs on later projects from a instrumental, vocal, and creative ... read more

Portishead - Portishead

This could end up being a 10. This album is haunting, the production is mindblowing, and Beth is unreal. God DAMN!!!!!!

Black Thought & Danger Mouse - Cheat Codes
90

Going to need a lot more listens to catch everything here, but on first listen this is literally one of the best and most consistently well produced projects I've ever heard. That's not even mentioning Black Thought going absolutely off on every track AND the great features. Super consistent and sounds amazing.
