Holy upgrade
For the most part this album is what I think CLB was trying to be with the mix of “intimidating” dark trap production mixed with chipmunk soul and R&B elements taking a more backseat but still present on some parts, especially more so on this album as the R&B I felt was mostly subject to segments of a few tracks and sing rapping that is expected of Drake, I don’t even know if a full R&B track is on this project. This is pretty cute, I’m not like a huge fan of Taylor’s vocals on the verses but they don’t sound bad by any means, actually quiet a decently written and lush song for a kids movie. Not blown away or anything but no issue with that lol
Yo who is this, I just saw this dude pop up like a week ago on TikTok, he seems like a decently acclaimed song writer but damn this guy can sing, really super smooth vocal and great writing.
I really haven’t listened to much Jpegmafia but I know he has much better in his bag. for the most part the style this record is going for (besides pretty much every edm adjacent element) is pretty good, but aside from a few songs the flow and lyrics and in some instances the production all blend together. I can’t believe Shine is going to be locked up for a while because he really is the best he’s ever sounded on this record with the best vocals and flows with seen and while still being in the same pocket (which isn’t really a problem for me) he still has seemed to slightly vary his sound again.
