Far better than Citizen of Glass, but there's only a few memorable standouts here.
Like most people say, an outstanding record. I don't think it sticks the landing with the last song though.
A disappointing step down from Dark Days and Canapes. There's a few good ideas on here but it's so meandering and plodding. Any song about Brexit is just pure cringe to me too, no matter how many metaphors you use.
A little nightmarish, a little maudlin, but a huge step forward for this band.
The weakest Paradise Lost album. Completely forgettable, no hook sticks and the production is a step down from Medusa.
Excellent melancholic ambience. The Slow Descent Has Begun gives me the feels every time.
One of those rare albums that gets slightly better every time you give it a full listen.
A classic. One of the best gothic metal albums of all time, containing some of the best hooks in all of gothic music. Unparalleled atmosphere and an incredible vocal performance from Liv Kristine.
If you're going to listen to this album, make sure that One Time We Lived and Stay Down are the last songs, cos they're the best songs.
A good swansong for Peter Steele and company. Shame about the pro-life lyrics in one song though.
The most under-appreciated experimental rock band. This contains some of their very best work. Hold Me In and Catch Light are stellar standouts, Garbage Shark is an incredible tension and release epic, whilst Lovemenot is mind meltingly heavy.
Another great album by Devy, like the holistic nature of this one too.
When the late great Bill Hicks lamented that people should, 'Play with their f***** hearts!' he meant to create albums like this.
The elation of being content and satisfied with your middle aged life. Some truly beautiful songs on this album.
