DAY 124: Vince Staples is an incredible lyricist and he stays incredible across this album, but in my opinion he’s held back by boring and samey feeling instrumentals.
It took a bit for it to click but once it did I truly felt like the gay man I am
DAY 122: Inferno is one of the most unique releases of the year, and because of that follows some of my most unique critiques. This is the only album I’ve ever listened to that I can say the 3 minute long songs felt too short, especially when compared to the lengthier tracks that had more time to develop these slower melodies.
DAY 120: Heart in pain, basketball
I was going to leave this review as a one liner but tg3 simply deserves more than that. The production is abrasive, haunting, and comforting all at once. My only real complaint is that some lyrics fall flat, and feel rather Iceman like, but then Matt follows it up with the most amazing and layered bar right after, causing a sort of tonal whiplash. DAY 116: PARTYOF2 are a very interesting and entertaining duo, but I feel as if they wear their inspirations on their sleeves a little too much.
DAY 113: I don’t mind the eight interludes because this is an incredibly cohesive album.
DAY 112: Solace is one of the most heartbreaking and empty feeling projects I’ve ever heard and it captures every feeling depression brings so well.
Honestly for the most part this album is just super mid but the 3 songs that suck dong knock it down to a negative score.
