While the singles were fantastic, this album does not impress as expected. The sounds are great, the production is of great quality, but the songwriting and composition lack bite. It is still a good album, but I personally expected more from Annie, and I expected a lot more after the singles she released. Still appreciate the will of going in different directions and especially in this heavy sounding direction, we need more of this.
This LP travels from start to finish at a high level. Great production, super cohesive, it's nice to hear a mainstream artist taking a risk by experimenting with some artistic and production choices, and it's even better when the result is like this. There is no real ‘weak’ song on this record, every track is very good.
A beautifully crafted album, listening to the whole LP is a really enjoyable experience, even the less strong tracks (and there are some fine ones) make sense in the context of the record and are really well produced. The vocals carry the album forward with their unique tone that does not sacrifice expressiveness.
He never stops trying to push his own limits. Although this LP cannot touch the heights of the colossal To Pimp A Butterfly, which has now set a giant bar in the world of Rap, it's still able to take this musical genre in new directions, at least as far as Kendrick Lamar's style and career is concerned
An impressive, gigantic-sounding album. Every track on this thing is beyond compare, the production, the performance, the vocal interpretation, the concept, the mixing. A unique experience, so powerful as to be disarming
