The crown jewel of Drakes Iceman trilogy, although it needs polishing around the edges. The record has a consistent, dark sound, which personally I'm a fan of. It's the best work he's done in a long time, but as said, there are creases around the edge with some filler tracks actively detracting from the quality of the album. There are gems in a way we've not seen for a while on a Drake project, though, which is nice to see and makes me hopeful that the boy does still have ... read more
The second, and worst, instalment of Drakes Iceman...trilogy? sees him trying to regain his obviously INCREDIBLE form in house music after Honestly Nevermind...because we all know how good an album that one was. All of these are radio hits with 0 substance and terrible lyrics, I fear the boy should just stick to rap at this point, there's very little in the bag. The songs genuinely feel like he was crazy when he wrote them, there are approximately 0 songs I think are listenable or ... read more
One piece of the Drake triple release puzzle, a puzzle I'm hoping was purely to escape his record deal and the boy will be back on form soon! As unlikely as that may seem with his recent form I can still find hope he will return to early form. On the topic of this project I say it sits slap bang in between Iceman and Maid Of Honour - not a particularly high bar on either end. This is a very bad project. Drake basically does SSS4U but without PND and somehow sounds all the worse for it ... read more
Coming off of good form in previous collab projects, Drake returned for his 10th full length album with fellow canadian PND to drop an R&B snooze fest. Its definitely a consistent project....consistently over autotuned vocals over really boring production. These guys haven't shown any good chemistry since IYRT so ig its a good thing this album was dropped as a surprise because no one's ass was getting hyped over this one getting dropped. Both PND and Drake are artists on a ... read more
Drakes 8th full length album For All The Dogs marks a significant drop in form from previous projects, even from other bloated projects in years prior. The main problem here is Drake seemingly not knowing what direction to go with in this album - its a 23 song slog with very few actually memorable songs littered throughout where Drake seemingly switches styles every few songs. This versatility was once a major positive for the boy but here this versatility just ends up as a jumble of poorly ... read more
