The debut of one of my favorite bands ever and one of the most important Haeavy Metal bands of all time, as much as I feel the praise this one gets is a little overrated, I would never deny the importance and mastery the band shows already, if I say this album shows some age is only cause every positive aspect this one has went on to be even better in every project after it.
One of the most important cornerstones in the history of Heavy Metal as a genre, pretty much cemented in the history of popular music as one of the most influential music albums in rock, with only 7 tracks Diamond Head manage to create a sound that would be replicated and admired for almost 50 years and has shown no signs of stopping.
Lemmy was the embodiment of Metal as a person, and even tho this wasn't their debut album, Overkill cemented the band's place in the history of rock music from their beggining, tight, fast and raw, like how I imagine Lemmy liked his sex this album flows in perfect pace from on etrack into the next, no filler, no skips, just pure unadultered rock for the love of the game.
