Cloucuckooland is the debut album by the band The Lightning Seeds, who to me were best known for helping to give the world one of the most annoying songs related to football ever: It's Coming Home, in which English football fans claim home of football is England and flex their arrogance, completely missing the irony of the song. So when a while ago i was doing soty again and heard a song by this band called Pure, i was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful, sweet and kind. The sort of beauty you'd expect from a late 80s indie song that randoly gets chart exposure.
Of course, it's not a big surprise that Pure is among the highlights. But what the others are? Bit tough to decide. A lot of the songs blend together to create a nice atmosphere, but not one that allows one specific song to flourish more than the next or last as much. Although i should say, The Price is pretty good.
