Going into this album I had heard two Sun Ra projects before, Strange Celestial Road and Sleeping Beauty, and thought both were incredible, especially the latter which I considered giving a perfect 10 for two whole months.
Consequently, I had high hopes for Lanquidity since it is Sun Ra and his band’’s most critically acclaimed and monumental album, but I was not expecting it to usurp the near perfection of Sleeping Beauty.

Wow he did it, Phil Collins made the worst album I’ve ever heard.
A lot of people who enjoy the pop era of Genesis that arose following the departure of Peter Gabriel in 1974 and Steve Hackett in 1977, very disingenuously dismiss any criticism of their 80s and 90s output as “oOoH PRoG eLitTistS aRe JusT mAd thAT thEy aREn’T pRog anYmOre”.

It is with immeasurable displeasure and disappointment that I admit that this album is good. Phil Collins’ greedy ball sack-shaped head has proved me wrong. I will now go cry myself to sleep because if 80s pop Genesis is churning out a (mostly) passable album then the end of the world is truly upon us. You win this round Mr Ballsack.

I have yet to hear this man and his band make a song that isn’t amazing.
Peter Gabriel writing a story where a man has his nutsack castrated and then stolen by a raven has got to be the weirdest and most incredible send off anyone has ever done for their final album before leaving a band.
