It's your troubled hero, back for a troubled season six. Florence is as big of a vocal powerhouse as ever, and i don't mind the cheeky lyricism this time around, but the production is by far the most uninspired in the band's catalogue, sleep inducing at times, which isn't very surprising consider who is the coproducer of every track.
Some people just have it from the get go! (and then kind of lose it later) St Vincent's debut mainly aims to do 1 thing: make you fall in love with St. Vincent, and it succeeds at it like nothing has ever succeeded! Really interestng that Annie delivered this kind of bittersweet, disillusioned take on the twee subculture(aesthetic? was it a full on subculture?) before it even really gained its popularity

Rufus paints a poignant picture of his life via vignettes of himself and his close (and not very close) ones. Thought this album was VERY frontloaded on first listen, but it has proven itself to be a grower!
