For me it's one of the weaker ones off the album so far-- the vocals are solid but I can barely hear the early lyrics-- feels a little too distorted maybe. Great second half. Still really solid, but not my favorite from this record yet :)
So far, I think Arlo's writing is just as tight on this album as it was on Collapsed-- but it's missing the rich production of its predecessor. Not to say it's produced poorly, but I personally find it a lot less satisfying. On Collapsed there are only a few songs that don't have some really interesting elements (like Bluish, For Violet) to them. The only real quirky production we've heard so far on this project is in Pegasus, (and I guess somewhat Devotion). Like-- it's still good music. Just not as enticing as its predecessor IMO. Those coffeehouse sounds mixed with Arlo's voice made for an incredible end result-- and while I appreciate her switching her style, I'm not sure that this particular new sound was electric enough to support a worthy follow-up.
