This kind of experimental is not what I expected from country but I am all for. The mixture of the alternative rock and country fuses into a pretty solid project with a unique sound. It is definitely just a sampler project tho, a lot of the songs feel short and like some of lyrical passages are missing but overall still a great project.

This was not the kind of LP I thought it would be. A$AP Rocky has had this album cooking up for the past 8 years and it sounds like he had a lot of ideas kicking around. Don't Be Dumb has a lot going on which leads to my main issue with it, the album just feels unfocused. Every song jumps to a different idea and while some ideas are interesting, others miss the mark. I didn't realise how much of this album I had already heard until I sat down and listened to it all. This album is frankly gorgeous, a mix of the sounds that defined the era and Prince's unique and iconic vocal deliveries that blend to a beautiful experience. Nearly every song as something iconic about them and some have lived on for decades. Instantly a true favourite of mine and something I will likely come back to.
