Damn, JPEG's must hear streak finally comes to an end. However, is this album as dissapointing as people are making it out to be? Eh? I guess I'd say so. However, I don't wanna say this is a bad album by any means. For a while I struggled to figure out what I didn't really like about this album and I think it's the fact that it feels very repetitive. But that didn't make sense to me at first because aesthetically this album does cover a lot of ground with different ... read more
I haven't listened to much Bladee besides Cold Visions when that came out. I remember liking a few cuts off of that so I was expecting like this one aswell. However, I just felt like this album didn't really do much that interested or stuck with me. Maybe if I was a bigger Bladee fan I would like this more but it just wasn't doing the trick for me. Overall, this one just felt kind of like wallpaper and vibes rather than super memorable songs.
After listening to 3 fucking Drake albums this was a needed breath of fresh air. Like holy shit this album felt like i discovered music for the first time or something. Anyways, I was honestly really surprised with this album because I wasn't really anticipating it that much other than a faint memory of thinking some of Owusu's music in the past was pretty good. However, even on my first listen of this I loved it a lot. Every song on this is really good imo. Genesis really blends a ... read more
This is probably the worst of the 3 for me but that's mainly because its just such a nothing album. There's literally nothing interesting to discuss here. Other than that creepy ass part where he's like "so this is is your first time" that shit was soooo fucking weird, like you get called a pedophile and your response is to put shit like that in your music? Not a good look at all. Anyways, this is just super forgettable.
Eh, this one ain't so bad imo. The Sexyy Red track is pretty fucking hilarious but other than that nothing on this is too standout for better or for worst. What helps this one a bit is the fact that it is only 45 minutes which for a Drake album is sooooo short. Also, this album does a good job of keeping me awake because unlike most of Drake's music this wasn't that sleepy. Overall, if we are talking just front to back listening experience this one I found the easiest to get ... read more
Musically this is more like a 5/10 for me but Drake's overall bitter vibe he gives off on this record brings it down to a 4/10. Seriously, why is he so unlikable on this album? Also, this album is so frustrating because many of the songs will start off pretty good, only for there to be a shitty beat switch that kills momentum or Drake says some cringe ass shit. Also, so many shitty bars on this thing such as "Killy might come take a stick off a pussy like they was ... read more
The lemon twigs feel like a bit of a glitch for me because I usually dislike stuff that is super retro and obviously pulling from a specific era. However, the lemon twigs just do it in a way that works for me. I think its mainly because they are just really good at the style so it doesn't feel like cheap imitation because their songs sound just as good as the stuff they are inspired by.
A really solid album from Blu & Exile here. Sure, the record doesn't seem to do anything that is too new or exciting for the duo but they stick to their guns and it succeeds in my opinion. Overall, it's a pretty chill hip hop record with some nice jazzy production and some pretty solid rapping.
While I did still enjoy this project, I feel that it is not on the level of their debut. To be fair their debut is an album I really love so they set the bar pretty high in my eyes. Overall, if you haven't heard the debut I'd probably just advise people to go listen to that and if they want more then this album should do the trick. However, I'm not sure if this album is the one that will win a new listener over. Again, it's a good record but just not amazing.
If you have liked her previous work than you'll love this album and if you haven't heard her before this isn't a bad place to start.
A pretty cool record from the former Black Midi member, though I definitely have my complaints. For example, a big one holding this record back for me is "Heart of Darkness" which for an 8 minute track just fails to leave much of an impression for me. The first section and main song is just decent to me and then it has an outro that is just kind of boring and wastes time on what should be a more dense 36 minutes. Similarly I'm not crazy about "Pearls" and the closing ... read more
Forgive me. I just didn't find this record to be super appealing for me. While there were plenty of moments that were pretty beautiful and it was overall a very nice and pleasant listen, not much really stuck with me after giving it a few go's. The only track that really stood out to me and I could see myself returning to is the second to last one "Shed a Tear." Other than that the rest of songs are very nice on the ears but don't really stick for me. Overall, I did ... read more
Alright, so this appears to be a debut album from a new artist a apart of the friend's house label. Personally, I have not listened to much of the music from this label but I know it's mainly emo and indie rock leaning stuff. I decided to check this one out because it seems to be getting a super positive reception so far and I generally really enjoy the genres associated with this. After listening to the record a few times I will say that I really liked it quite a bit, it has plenty ... read more

Wha??? Before I get into this I wanna say that right before I found this album I was literally talking about how there hasn’t really been any great rock records to come out in 2026 so far (at least from what I have listened to). Then this album literally just fell into my lap it seems. Otherworldly, mesmerizing and entrancing are all words I would use to describe the music on this album. When saw that all the songs were 6 minutes long and that it would be mostly ... read more
So I don't really know much about Robyn other than the fact that she's a european pop star who has been doing it for a long time. I don't really have much to say on this album because it's overall just a pretty good and straightforward pop album that doesn't overstay its welcome. Even though I have never really listened to Robyn, this record did feel pretty nostalgic for me because It definitely reminds me of late 00's and early 2010's electropop, so that ... read more
Damn, this is probably my favorite pop record since Imaginal Disk by Magdalena Bay. Bruh, 2025 really was not a great year for pop. Anyways, we got Slayyyter coming through with an album that just manages to do everything right with great production, great vocals and catchy choruses. I would be lying if I said I wasn't new to Slayyyter's music, I mean I remember seeing her album from 2023 but I never really gave it a try because it just didn't have enough buzz around it for me to ... read more
Well, the album certainly is not subtle, but is that a bad thing? Personally, I don't really believe it is, at least in the case of this album. I have seen a variety of criticisms towards this album and I feel I either don't agree or see them as a big enough deal to disrupt my experience. For example, many call this album maximalist, even RAYE herself, and when people call it maximalist they're really meaning that it's "too much." Personally tho, that's kind ... read more
2093 is really starting to feel like it was a fluke or completely by accident. Personally, it’s been a while since I’ve listened to Yeat because I skipped that EP he dropped last year because at the time it seemed like a side project and I had other albums I was more interested in. I also figured I’d save myself for years next major project which we now have and it’s a big old nothing burger. How the hell do u give me a 21 song and over an hour of runtime and there is ... read more
Huh? damn. First Slayr, now this? I can't tell if maybe I'm warming up to more underground stuff or it's simply getting a lot better. Probably the latter because I still don't enjoy artists like Nettspend. Anyways, I really appreciate ez for seeming to carve out his own niche in the saturated rage scene by choosing to focus on more rock flavors in his production and punk aesthetics. I also feel that unlike a lot of rage music this album actually gives quite a bit of insight ... read more
Believe it or not but Atmospheric Sludge Metal is not a genre of music I frequent in my personal listening. However, this has been getting a good deal of buzz so I thought I would check it out. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by this record because I feel like records like this often just have zero appeal for me but I did actually really quite like this. First off, I really liked how the songs had pretty distinct phases, often times I feel in longer metal songs they'll have ... read more
