Well this was certainly an adventure…
A bit of a preface before the review, I’ve known Fedora for a few months now and I believe he has lots of talent. I am happy to have him under CD, Lila, Quad Kanix, and I’s label, Walkerman Records.
When I first discovered the concept of this album as a whole and the genres it undertakes, I was quite intrigued on what it would sound like. I understand Cloud Rap is a major genre that combines elements of ambient, rap, and other major ... read more
I never thought I'd see the day this dropped
When I first heard that this album was dropping I was extremely excited due to the fact that I'm the biggest Earl glazer and I enjoy quite a lot of MIKE's music as well. Even when I figured out this project would not include the typical musical styles that both of them use I could still not contain my excitement. I have been tapped into this vein of music for about a year now. I have grown to really enjoy and love the music of ... read more
ANOTHA NEW SINGLE!
Just tryna get back into the swing of things and trying out new styles and flows and shit. Go tap in
Time.
I have fears with time. Eternity. Death. Life. And other topics just like those. Every day I wake up with a new fear about myself and what will happen to the world I so deeply love one day. Everything seems to suck me into a pit of despair. Every fun moment I have goes by so fast that I can’t properly enjoy it. I feel so diluted once time is brought up. I try to escape from a world that I want to be present in. Once I fade out, days go by quicker and memories start fleeting. ... read more
This album is boutta be so peak
Helicopter$ sees Rocky in yet another new form for the Don’t Be Dumb rollout. I love everything about this track from the infectious hook to the somewhat Memphis Rap inspired instrumental. This is a complete flip of energy compared to the first single of the rollout and that’s what I love so much about this rollout. Rocky is showcasing even more of his versatility and creativeness with this slate of singles; and, unsurprisingly, he’s most ... read more
Third single let's go. My boy CD slid on here. Shoutout him go check out his other stuff. Rerecorded my vocals on here as well so they sound a bit different. TAP IN.
Random single since I "cancelled" Eclipse. Wanted to get this out since I recorded and produced a while ago. Also I'm mad that the cover ain't the right dimensions but whatever.
If you asked me about a year and a half ago where I would be in life I would have told you that I was a great basketball player that was a highly touted prospect from my class. Now that just looks like a faded out dream that never is going to happen; and, that’s not because I gave up it was more so that I gained a deep passion for music. My passion for music sprung up from a multitude of events that have happened in my life but it truly nurtured once I joined AOTY. I actually floated ... read more
Holy shit, Momenat actually cooked with this one.
I wasn't the biggest fan of his previous project "Momenat EP" as I felt like it left a lot to be desired and the songs felt bland and repetitive. This EP sees Momenat trying out new genres and song structures that are completely different from his previous works. He kept me hooked through the entire project because of the constant instrumental changes in the songs. This project also feels a lot more vibrant than its predecessor. ... read more
TW - Depression and Abuse
An angry man screams as his children sit in silence.
Men in blue come to help with the violence.
But instead of helping they just laugh with content.
Not even knowing the past events.
Yelling, bellowing, and hollering.
Cries from a woman who had everything stripped away.
She and her children are gonna have to start living scarcely each and every day.
I thought it was a nightmare.
But waking up it stays the same.
The angry man couldn’t take the blame.
He feels ... read more
BRIEF REVIEW:
I genuinely think Joey Valence and Brae are extremely overrated. I found the songwriting on these two tracks to be very corny and boring. I thought the production was decent on the first track but the second track's production was so boring. Overall, this does not have me excited for the album.
I enjoy their chemistry on this track and I think this is overall a really fun song; but, the mixing on this isn't that good. In addition, both of them sound kinda sleepy compared to their previous collab "Triangle Offense" which was just a straight banger.
This is the most peak piece of music ever composed. The way Karl Carling decided to make an album to care for puppies is so sweet. I can just imagine a puppy sitting listening to the sound of Karl Carling's album. I can imagine the puppy listening to shotgun sounds so that it won't be overstimulated. Karl Carling really cares for puppies around the world and he made this beautiful album to show us that. I still find this to be very enjoyable even as a human. This really helps me ... read more
Quonka is officially the GOAT of the 2020s
Quadeca’s upbringing in the music industry has always been an interesting story. He initially gained relevancy on Youtube where he made Fifa and rap content videos. He managed to gain a pretty decent following off of his Youtube amassing 1 million subscribers. During his time on Youtube, Quadeca released multiple mixtapes that did not receive much praise. Quadeca even now admits that he doesn’t like any of his older mixtapes and ... read more
This man does not miss
Tyler doesn’t try to get super conceptual with this record like he’s done with most of his prior projects; instead, he decided to make an album with bangers. Now it’s no secret that Tyler can make some bangers. He just made a few hits on his Chromakopia record and he’s had even more viral success in past years with heavily conceptual albums like Igor and Flower Boy that still feature a few bangers on them. The bouncy beats, repetitive hooks, and ... read more
