I don’t know why it took me this long to listen to this album, Paul’s Boutique is definitely my new favorite hip-hop record.
First off, the sampling is absolutely insane. I was amazed by how many samples I recognized: The Beatles, Mountain’s Mississippi Queen, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin. The fact that the entire album was made purely from samples is brilliant in its own right, some of the best production I've ever heard.
