I still have a lot of recency-bias, but I really enjoyed through this fire across from Peter Balkan. Its incredible how John Darnielle recreated his dream into a full length album. Now following this band's reputation, they love to make dark themes into somewhat upbeat songs. Simple yet sweet single, can't wait to see what the album will turn into when it's released
Each of their tracks from the album (skeletà) have been very emotional, dark, and instrumentally magnificent, especially from one of their songs "umbra". Their first track "Peacefield", is a masterpiece when it comes to its message about our society and how future generations will be affected and how they will rebuild from the ruins. Love the indie folk rock genre and already included three of their tracks from this album to my playlist, including Joan in the garden
So far the longest track I've listened to, the two interludes are quite unique and exotic when it compares to this track the last three minutes of the song feel so earned too, do reccomend listening the entire thing in one sitting
