Incredibly happy this project turned out well. Much more cohesive than many of their albums since Plastic Beach. Appreciate the somber elements.

Even a bad story's a story people tell each other.
I don't have much listening experience with Reggae, but this was nice! You can really feel yourself sink into this one and just zone out for a bit. Marley has an incredible feel in his vocal performances, which this album is chock-full of.
No one track really stood out to me, which works both to the album's detriment and benefit. It helps maintain the atmosphere at the expense of some more potent high points. Still a more than worthwhile listen.
Takes the best elements of Musical Tangents, expands on them and weaves in a genuinely moving narrative. Taps into the entire emotional spectrum. A work of genius.
This is just...not it. Rare Americans' whinny vocals always weighed down their works, and this is one of the worst examples yet.
Nice to listen to and comforting, but doesn't progress at all. A nice head bobber, but one you'll never find to urge to return to.
Emotional and well crafted, but honestly exhausting at times. Solidly crafted in all aspects there just something a bit...off here.
Invisible boosts this by like 10 points. The ballads really hold this one back from being great sadly, otherwise an enjoyable listen.
Exactly what you'd expect, and the poor guy's voice is nearly shot at this point. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen still slaps as it always has.
Initially I thought it was fine, but listening to it again...man, those vocals are fucking weird. Lacks a core vision beyond "vaguely electronic," which isn't nearly enough.
PHIL DOESN'T MISS!!
The atmosphere, the driving guitars at the end—absolutely divine!
Gradually shifts from okay with a few standout tracks to a strong finish. Wish there was a bit more cohesion overall, but generally a fun listen.

What a great debut! Ethereal and gorgeous production is powerfully cut through each time by great vocals. You just feel yourself drifting away, drawn into the tale of whichever track is playing. Passion is a necessity for any singer-songwriter project, and it's here in spades.
