He's back and he has smashed it. I was honestly so done at one point with how long he was taking to drop this but I'm so glad he finally move us a fantastic project which was genuinely worth the wait
Hearing this on a Friday afternoon after uni and driving home from Manchester to Nottingham on the motorway was an outrageous experience. This hits SO hard in the car with twists and turns keeping you engaged the whole way through.
Production is fantastic throughout and I genuinely ... read more
shoutout jim legxacy - his performance was incredible but selfish hit me deep.
as someone who hates the way he is and hates the fact he even has hate in his heart, the lyrics speak what i can't put into words sometimes. and any hatred i have is due to the person i hate the most - myself.
i usually find dave a little drab sometimes as i can't always get behind all of his material but he performed incredibly here. bar 175 months, chapter 16 and maybe marvellous he has blown me away ... read more
the singles he released yesterday were pretty standard loyle carner tbh, but this is real perfection. so much emotion and a much more interesting instrumental progression which creates so much open space and emotion. one of his best songs ever.
my mate was egging me on to listen and i finally did - absolutely worth it. not too clued in on the context, all i know was that he made this on his deathbed and don't cry is dedicated to his mum, who was crying about the fact he was about to die.
releasing this three days before passing away makes this so raw as well, such a fun listen but thinking about it gives me such a sombre feeling too.
YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY
i never thought i'd find myself enjoying this album this much considering the length of some of these songs but i've already emotionally attached a fair few tracks to a certain couple of people so it's already received a special place in my heart.
yeahhh this is spectacular - that first half is genuinely as good as it gets
an absolute rollercoaster.
there's a lot of solo carti songs which i don't care for as much but what a moment in music history.
the highs are outstanding, the flows are sensational, the features are so so so fun and future has proved that there's no trap artist who comes close to him - couldn't ask for much more
the first two songs kinda sold me a dream because the tracklist becomes a little inconsistent but it's full of highs, reptilia is a generational tune
yes, don't rub your eyes, i didn't give a drake album a high rating!
that being said, i don't think it's as bad as people are making out. at times, there are some real highs on the project - namely the intro, pim's interlude, lasers and greedy. i really do appreciate drake trying out styles he's never done before either, even if the execution was 50/50.
PND was, for the most part, extremely lacklustre and didn't outperform drake once (from memory) and either ... read more
the feature list alone had me in a chokehold, thought i was having a wet dream - lana AND future? wowzers
a spectacular end to the weeknd era, a few duds but the highs were absolutely phenomenal. can not wait to keep listening again and again to this project.
some of these songs jus resonate with me on another level like lyric for lyric is a description of my current mindstate, an emotional listen for sure when it comes to those tracks but otherwise such a nice vibe regardless
im only ranking the new songs
minus points for no lana del rey i got clickbaited so hard
apart from that it's kinda inconsistent - the first two tracks are meh, there's a few tracks that are incredible with 30 for 30, drive and BMF and then the rest are jus your average sza songs with not much bad to say about them.
also side note, i reckon sza would be such an annoying friend idk, she gives me the left on delivered for 4 months vibe when she asks you a question first but ... read more
danger mouse & black thought are the real cheat code here🤣🤣
in all honesty, i’m not smart enough to understand this level of music but wowzers it sounds incredible
how are people rating it so high already, can you guys touch grass or smth? can't go two seconds without seeing someone glaze the shit out of him
watching an interview with cordae talking about this album after listening to the first half deepened my appreciation for him as an artist. he showed glimpses of what he's really capable on his debut album which is such a comforting project. this is genuinely fantastic and such a step up from FABEV which was underwhelming especially for someone of cordae's talent.
i knew he could do better and he came back with hunger, some real highlight tracks on here. and whilst his lyrics may be ... read more
