I have mad respect towards Cordae for just doing his thing, staying in his lane and dropping cool music without any massive rollout or trendchasing. Just him saying "I'm about to drop a good rap album" and then dropping a good rap album
Cordae came in the game with this weird expectations of being a new hope within the SoundCloud era generation because he was a part of YBN while also rapping on boom bap beats. I think this expectation haunts him to this day, with the comparisons to Cole or Chance never panning out well.
