Khruangbin's simplicity and minimalism, Thai-psychedelia, and Desert Blues combine for a heavenly collaboration. This album takes you on a journey around the African deserts. Believe me, I'm African. It's like the album starts in eastern Africa/Ethiopia and takes you to Mali through the desert on a camel, where Vieux Farka Toure is grieving his father.
Some melodies are similar to melodies from these regions.

I have always kept an eye on Tinariwen since I discovered them. In this album, we hear more voices than usual; the collaborations are very good, especially the one with the Sudanese singer. Although it's not as iconic as their previous works, it's more diverse in comparison to their previous works.
Desert blues is becoming my favorite genre; they're the pioneers.
The album is very special after watching the movie, loved it.
