Listening to this was a genuinely awful experience and I never want to put myself or anyone else through it again.
Although far from a perfect record, Pablo Honey still has something to offer to its listeners long after its release. The clear standout of this album is Creep but that's not to diminish the quality of its other tracks. From the hypnotizing opening of You to the playfulness of Anyone Can Play Guitar, Pablo Honey has enough to offer to anyone willing to give it a try. 7/10!
From the very first track, I was transported into a different world where Mac was passionately rapping and singing about his inner demons and turmoil. For me, "Come Back to Earth" is the highlight of the album but it still reaches unattainable heights throughout.
This album started off amazingly with "Like a Rolling Stone" but unfortunately never reached those heights musically, at least for me. Not to call it bad, it's a good-ass album with a few shining moments throughout like in "Highway 61 Revisited" and "Desolation Row" but is mostly just something I mostly appreciate for existing then actively loving.
