This album is good, the first of the danger mouse collars but probably the worst one, not that this is an insult of course. This album has massive highlights like Strange Times, Remember When (Side B), Oceans & Streams and He Wont Break. This album probably has the most fat of the danger mouse albums but that doesn't mean this album doesn't bang. The blues rock stylings are still here. The good songs are seriously good, but the mid songs do drag and get boring. This is their most experimental and different of the albums released so far. It does continue the trend of The Black Keys not knowing how to pick their album openers. I got mine- psychotic girl is a top tier run of tracks though. They're added keyboards and it shows their evolution as artists. This comes right before Brothers so it's probably overlooked but it deserves its flowers for the direction it took the band to the masterpieces they make in the 3 albums after. This is an overlooked gem that's underrated because of the intro and outro tacks not being massive highlights. This has some of there black keys best individual songs, but it also has them at some of their most sludgy
