'Plastic Beach' is Gorillaz's magnum opus. Albarn makes sure the production, organisation of features, track ordering, theming are so high quality that makes every track hit; not only musically, but thematically. While it is unfortunate that Gorillaz are right about the world, at least they do it in a wonderful and creative album. (shoutout to Hewlett for continuing to kill it on the visual elements as well)
'Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers' may be slightly bloated, but the tracks are either sweet on the ears, heavy on the heart, or both. Kendrick Lamar's most introspective, interesting, and personally challenging project and truly amazing.
Abstract hip-hop was never the same after 'Madvillainy' came out. DOOM and Madlib made one of the most unique listening experiences truly.
Travis Scott's "Rodeo" takes the genre of trap and pushes it in so many different directions to the point that it truly becomes a unique experience in terms of production, ambition and songwriting. Also, Travis Scott's lyricism, while nothing special, is pretty good on this album.
The extra tracks on "KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH" may not be enough to transform the project to something entirely different, but I can't say that any of the tracks are bad or unwarranted... (more of a good thing lol)
